I did every thig to keep him happy by changing bedding ,fresh food ,fresh water,playing with him.
When I was younger I had a TB hamster that I loved a lot…she was the best one i had ever had..never bit would crawl on my shoulders and hair went everywhere with me, very healthy coat, eyes, and overall body condition, but on Halloween when she was about 2 1/2 years old she passed away! I was distraught, but also comforted. Because their life expectancy rarely reaches 3 years. Especially if they have ever had litters, or if the breeder where the pet shop bought them from inbred at all! And you would probably never know where the pet shop got them from.I know it sucks for such a short lifespan but that’s nature! If you did all those things then it was just old age! So take comfort in knowing he had a good life! Hope this helps!

Sad fact of life
. Small animals tend to live very short lives, usually the smaller they are the shorter lifespan they have. There are small animals that do have much longer lifespans though, so if you ever wanted to get another pet, maybe consider one of these if saying goodbye to the hammie was too hard for you.

don’t worry about it. all hamsters have their time to go. i understand that you’ve taken care of it, it’s just that she died of old age. its not the way you’ve taken care of it, it’s just she had to go. russian hamsters live 2-3 years, robo hamsters live from 3-4 years, chinese hamsters live 2-3 years. its okay. everything and everybody needs to die. really hope this helps.
