Hi, I am going to get 2 robo dwarf girl hamsters in the new year and I want to get those two cages but I am worried about the gap between the bars! Can someone help me…Please!
I have had the the Crittertrail X. I hated but hey, non of my dwarf hamsters managed to escape. It was a pain to clean out and the wheel split in two after 2 weeks. In my opinion they are both very small, especially the Primary but thats just my opinion.
I used a normal giant wire cage for my dwarfs.
you can always surround the cage with something.

I guess they are both OK, but I prefer wire cages or glass aquariums for dwarf hamsters.

My friend recently purchased a cage from Petco for their dwarf hamster. It has smaller wire spacing than average cages, making it perfect for dwarf hamsters! Plus there are two full levels of living space! My friend is really happy with purchase. I’ve included the link the cage above.
Hi, Great Question!
The CritterTrail X and Primary both have been tested with dwarf hamsters and are safe. I currently have a Robo hamster in a CritterTrail Primary and have never had an issue. If you are still worried about bar spacing, try Super Pet’s Double Decker habitat which has smaller wire guage (6mm) suitable for Robo hamsters and mice.
As far as size, proving your hamster with various means of exercise (balls, wheels, etc.) allows your pet to get the needed daily exercise. All CritterTrail homes provide hamsters with adequate space, but they are additionally expandable if you want more room. You can add various funnel tubes and accessories to create additional places for your hamster to run, play and hide.
