Can you put two 3 month old Dwarf Hamsters together?

Posted on Feb 07, 2010 under dwarf hamsters | 3 Comments

This is my last question for the day :D

My friend is thinking about getting 2 dwarf hamsters from PetSmart. The hamsters there are 3 month old and are caged together in a group of around 5. Would they get along at this point if she bought two and put them in a cage together with 2 wheels and 2 sleeping places?
I forgot to mention, they would both be females.

yea i think so

Dwarf hamsters are pretty much the only hamsters that may get along with each other. By get along, I mean not eat each other right away. Chances are, with this species it would be ok, but I would not be surprised at all if there were problems.

I wouldn’t once you take them home they will get more territorial against each other. I had 2 hamsters that were once in a hamster cage together and they would fight until one day I came home to one with there head bitten off :””’( True story its horrible! I hope this helps!
